On May 5, 2010, the Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management joined forces with the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Beacon Economics to hold the second annual “What’s Next LA?” conference, mapping the road to economic recovery in 2010. The message was one of caution: Government intervention may have gotten us through a rough patch, but the resulting growth may be masking the problems underneath.
This short video from the conference features Beacon Economics Founding Principal Chris Thornberg and Director of Regional Research Brad Kemp in discussion with Graziadio Dean Linda Livingstone about how education and healthcare reform may impact the economy. Full PDF versions of the presentations from the event are available at www.beaconecon.com, including a U.S. and California Forecast by Chris Thornberg, and a Los Angeles forecast by Brad Kemp.
